I have so many questions about the bible stuff. I'm just the kind of person that doesnt care much for organized religions and just belive you should be a decent person and IF there is a god it will love you for that.

I didn't see the video, but someone sneaked some stills of it on another forum and I ran into them. I didn't see too much of it, but was extra freaked when I heard that it wasn't exactly a swift death for the poor guy. At least there was one rescue of one of the hostages (remember that guy from Mississippi?).

Bottom line is all of the shit going on over there is just crazy, we should up and leave I say. But I know that's not going to happen soon. American contract workers killed and hung from a bridge in Fallujah, the Iraqi prison fiasco, now this. Something's bound to happen again, photographed or videotaped I'm sure.

I've heard some people say "So what? Those contract workers were paid alot of money, they knew the risks. Portions of Iraq hate us, we bombed them and invaded!". ..but while it's understandable if a portion of the people over there are pissed at the coalition, Berg's case wasn't just some combat related death. I don't believe that Berg had it coming. Anyhow, as Porthos basically said one vile act doesn't justify the other.

Like bonedust, I also thought it would be worse. I expected to at least get a little queasy. It's rare for something to give me that sort of a reaction (a scene from 21 Grams almost pulled it off), but seeing someone's head get carved off seems like something that would have some impact. That wasn't the case, though. I just watched the video, put on some music, and made something to eat like I had originally planned. Seeing that wasn't nearly as big of a deal as I expected. Sure, I feel bad for the guy, but it's not going to change my life or get me hot-blooded. Just because he's a white American who was killed on video, it isn't going to make me any angrier than the things we do to others. The ignorance of our people is what upsets me. My grandmother's response was something along the lines of "We just need to kill all of those fucking rag-heads." And she made sure to clarify that she meant all of them, not just the ones who have committed terrorist acts. If we're going to do that, we might as well take care of the beaners, niggers, and gooks while we're at it, right?
